HI there, I have installed hackintosh today that has NMV smasung pro 500gb drive. I used terminal to format that drive to HFS+ and then installed Sierra 10.13.4. When I booted into the mac I realised that Sierra has converted my drive to APFS format.
To partition USB drive macOS High Sierra can be a useful way to organize your data on an external hard drive. Problem is, most USB keys and external hard drives come formatted for Microsoft Windows and have what’s called a Master Boot Record.
How can I please stop Sierra formatting my drive to APFS. For what I read it is unstable and not good to use. Can someone please explain the process as to how to install on NMV Samsung drive with HFS+ and not APFS using multibeast and unibeast please. I seen this post many times.
I do not understand the process. I get it that OS High Sierra needs to be downloaded first.
I then need to quite it; I will then while on my mac (not on my hackintosh) enter the terminal command. When I did this it wanted to reinstall it on my Mac not Hackintosh. This is where I got stuck. Clealry I run the terminal command on Mac. How do I do this on a bootable USB drive. Also I was using Multi-beast/Unibeast, you are saying I should use Clover. Sorry I am a little bit confused.
Perhaps you can elaborate in steps how do get to the point to use Terminal and install without APFS formating. Sorry I have some experience but I am not an expert.
